About ITAD

ITAD is the acronym for the organization called "Information Technology Assistance for Development". ITAD is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Liberia (West Africa). ITAD is incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Liberia and accredited by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs. The corporation is comprised of a Board Directors, an Executive Director and a functional management team. This organization was established for the development of human resource and infrastructure in developing countries through the sharing and recycling of technology (Technical-Know-How and Equipment). ITAD uses Information Technology assistance (Technical-Know-How and Equipment) as one of our key tool. In our effort to alleviate illiteracy, ignorance, Conflicts, Crimes, Poverty, and HIV infections in communities where majority of the inhabitants live in abject poverty, we have design several human resource development programs to capacitate and equip these poor people to improve their lives, the lives of other and their community. We believe these poor people needs to be involved in the development program, if it must be successful. This is why we begin our programs at community level and then spread over an entire country as we acquire the needed resources. We conduct adult literacy program, Computer Literacy program, Counseling service, Workshops, Vocational skill training, and other programs to capacitate these people to implement what they have learned for the improvement of their lives, and their community. The primary objectives of ITAD include:

1.      Donation of computers, accessories and general communication equipment we receive, to institutions in need of these things, but can not afford the cost.

2.     Assistance in the maintenance of computers and other equipment donated, to ensure that these devices function through its full lifespan for which they were manufactured.

3.     Give out scholarships, as a means of addressing the charitable needs of the poor and less fortunate.

4.    Conduct computer literacy training and other educational programs in our efforts to eradicate illiteracy, poverty and reduce HIV infection in developing countries.

5.    Donate books and other learning material to institutions in need.

6.    Conduct or commission research, compile, distribute or otherwise make accessible information on various topics and publish the results of such research for development.

7.     Arrange free space (hosting) on the Internet for local NGO’s websites.
